EL ATEO GUIDES
How to drink premium tequila and understand what is in the glass
Serve premium tequila at room temperature or slightly chilled in a clean glass that lets you smell it. Observe its color and texture, bring it toward your nose without inhaling sharply, and take a small sip. There is no single correct way: the goal is to recognize the agave, intensity, and wood without covering them.
Which glass should you use for tequila?
A tequila or tasting glass with a moderately narrow opening helps concentrate aromas. The glassware should be clean and free of detergent odors.
Cold, over ice, or at room temperature?
Cold reduces aromatic perception. Room temperature reveals more detail; one large ice cube changes texture and intensity slowly. Choose for the moment, not because of an absolute rule.
A short tasting method
Look, smell, taste, and taste again. Take your time.
- Pour a small amount.
- Observe the color against a neutral background.
- Smell from a distance, then bring the glass closer.
- Take a small sip before forming a judgment.
For adults 18 and over only. Please enjoy responsibly.
