EL ATEO

ROMITA · GUANAJUATO · SINCE 1953

Before it became tequila, it was an obsession.

Don Luis planted agave where no one else saw a future. Three generations later, that resolve brings Romita and Arandas together in every bottle of El Ateo.

THREE GENERATIONS

What we choose today began in 1953.

EX HACIENDA DE SILVA

A house that still breathes.

Built in the early twentieth century, Ex Hacienda de Silva preserves the arches, corridors, and patina of an era that still lives in Romita.

Don Luis acquired it in the middle of the last century. The family has cared for it ever since, surrounded by the agaves that began this story.

“At night, they say, his footsteps can still be heard along the corridors.”

ORIGIN AND TRANSFORMATION

Romita grows. Arandas transforms.

01 · ROMITA

The roots

Land, family, and agave. In 2000, Romita became part of the Tequila Denomination of Origin.

02 · ARANDAS

The method

Cooking, tahona extraction, double distillation, and bottling turn the field into a precise expression.

The public record of the Tequila Regulatory Council identifies Plantaciones Tequilana and lists El Ateo among its brands. “Single Brand NOM” is how the brand communicates that relationship; it is not an additional regulatory category.

A METHOD WITHOUT SHORTCUTS

Faith, measured.

Four visible decisions. One uncompromising standard, from the land to the bottle.

01

Agave

Tequilana Weber · Villalobos family

Everything begins in Romita: family-tended agave and hands that understand the land before any formula.

02

Cooking

Brick ovens · Slow heat

The agave hearts reach Arandas for a patient cook that transforms the agave without disguising its origin.

03

Tahona

Stone-crushed extraction · Fiber and mineral

Extraction preserves texture, pulse, and character. Here, weight does the work and haste stays outside.

Copper and condensation during tequila distillation
04

Distillation

Double distillation · Steel and copper

Two distillations refine the profile until it is clean, precise, and unmistakable in every expression.

MANIFIESTO

Questioning was the beginning. Doing it right is the proof.

El Ateo does not inherit truths; it puts them to the test. It trusts science, respects nature, and welcomes those who think differently.

This bottle exists because a family questioned convention, cared for its land, and turned stubborn conviction into method.

In Tequila We Trust.
